چکیده

Slow (zero field)paramagnetic relaxation is reported for undiluted tetrahedral ferrous monomers for the first time. The Mossbauer spectra of Fe(2,9 di-CH3-phenanthroline)(NCS)2 and Fe(2,9 di-CH3 4,7 di-(j>-phenanthroline) (NCS)2 exhibit magnetic hyperfine splitting in the range 20 K to 1.6 K while the corresponding chlorides are rapidly relaxing paramagnets at all temperatures in zero field. Low temperature susceptibility and Mossbauer results indicate that D changes sign from positive to negative from the CI to NCS~ respectively with the foregoing ligands. Mossbauer spectra to 1.6 K confirm rapid paramagnetic relaxation for other pseudo-tetrahedral analogues (e.g. Fe(biquinoline)X2, X=C1, NCS). The slow relaxation is then peculiar to the 2,9 di-CH3~phenanthroline system.

Inspiration from old molecules: field-induced slow magnetic relaxation in three air-stable tetrahedral cobalt(II) compounds.

We have investigated the dynamics of the magnetization of three four-coordinate mononuclear cobalt(II) compounds, which are synthesized conveniently and are air stable. Slow magnetic relaxation effects were observed for the compounds in the presence of a dc magnetic field.

Slow magnetic relaxation at zero field in the tetrahedral complex [Co(SPh)4]2-.

The Ph(4)P(+) salt of the tetrahedral complex [Co(SPh)(4)](2-), possessing an S = (3)/(2) ground state with an axial zero-field splitting of D = -70 cm(-1), displays single-molecule magnet behavior in the absence of an applied magnetic field. At very low temperatures, ac magnetic susceptibility data show the magnetic relaxation time, τ, to be temperature-independent, while above 2.5 K thermally...

μSR study of short-range magnetic order in the paramagnetic regime of ErCo2

Zero-field muon spin relaxation spectroscopy (μSR) measurements in the paramagnetic phase of ErCo2 ferrimagnetic system are reported. Previous experimental studies using macroand microscopic techniques led to the identification of magnetic short-range correlations between the Co atoms in the paramagnetic state of this material. The analysis of μSR spectra recorded on ErCo2 well above Tc indicat...

Field-induced slow relaxation of magnetization in a tetrahedral Co(II) complex with easy plane anisotropy.

The mononuclear Co(II) complex CoBr (dmph = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) was obtained and X-ray structurally characterized as a distorted tetrahedron environment that is responsible for the moderately strong positive anisotropy of high spin Co(II). In combination with variable-field magnetic susceptibility data at low temperature, high-field electron paramagnetic resonance (HF-EPR) spectro...

Field-induced slow relaxation in a monometallic manganese(III) single-molecule magnet.

High-field electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy shows that the structurally distorted Mn(III) ion in Na5[Mn(L-tart)2]·12H2O (1; L-tart = L-tartrate) has a significant negative axial zero-field splitting and a small rhombic anisotropy (∼1% of D). Alternating-current magnetic susceptibility measurements demonstrate that 1, which contains isolated Mn(III) centers, displays slow relaxation ...
